Community Fun Walk to benefit the Virgil Benge Community Sports Complex
by Schafer/Ailes on June 6, 2016Jamestown Community Fun Walk is set to kick off from Jamestown Christian Church on Saturday, June 11th @ 10am.
The fundraising walk will see hundreds of walkers circle the complex to raise funds to
help the further developement of the Virgil Benge Community Sports Complex which is being built to provide a safe place for children, teens and adults to play organized sports such as baseball, softball, sand volleyball, soccer and basketball.
“It was Virgil Benge’s vision that the main use of this land be for the community and the youth of this area,” said Senior Pastor Scott Ailes. “Our goal is to honor that vision by doing as much as we can to provide a facility that welcomes everyone in our community to utilize for sports and recreation.”
The event starts at 10:00 am, with registration at 9:30 am. Walkers can register online and print out a form to obtain sponsors for their walk.
We will begin the fundraising event with a ribbon cutting ceremony and balloon launch which will be held at the connection bridge between the Witham Health Services campus and the Jamestown Christian Church campus with representatives from both Witham Health Services and Jamestown Christian Church being present.
The route will take walkers 2 laps around the perimeter of the property (approximately 1 mile) on the newly finished Witham Health Services Walking Trail. Walking teams, those with strollers and wheelchair participants are all welcome. Drink and snacks provided at the end of the route.
Is your company/group interested in sponsoring our walk? All company/group sponsorship names will be announced at the walk. $50+ sponsors receive their company/group name on the Jamestown Christian Church website and Facebook page with a link to your company/group website or Facebook page.
