JCC Core Values

Proverbs 29:18 (NIV) says, "Where there is no vision, the people perish."  The first step in securing a positive future for all ministries here at Jamestown Christian Church is to have a single destination worth living and dying for.  That destination is reaching the lost and developing believers and deploying disciples into our community and our world.  Our Core Values is the map that will get us there.  Our Core Values help answer the question, "Why are we doing what we're doing?" as well as "Who are we?" and What's most important to us?"  These values communicate to members of the church how we make decisions and what every leader must be committed to.  With that in mind, these are the Core Values of Jamestown Christian Church:

Give freely
“Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” – 2 Corinthians 9:7 (NIV)

Love unconditionally
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud, It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” – 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (NIV)

Serve willingly
“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.” – Mark 10:45 (NIV)

Pray constantly
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends al understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV)

Teach truthfully
“This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths that come from the Spirit of God.”  – 1 Corinthians 2:13 (NIV)

Worship passionately
“Yet a time is coming and has now come when true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshippers the Father seeks.” – John 4:23 (NIV)
